Personalised Extra Special Wedding Music - just for YOU!
Are you looking for Live Music for your Wedding or Civil Ceremony, Reception and Evening Entertainment?
Then you've come to the right place!!
Music usually plays a large part in each stage of a wedding and it's important to get the choice of music right for each part as the day progresses. Anna can tailor the music exactly to your needs throughout the day. She has performed at many weddings over the past 10 years, and has lots of experience in helping you choose the songs you want for your special day.
The Wedding Ceremony.
This is the first part of the day you need to consider. The groom and guests arrive, the guests take their seats and await the arrival of the bride - so you need to think about what style of music you would like playing while they're waiting. Anna has occasionally sung for as much as an an hour whilst waiting for the bride to arrive! We suggest something which is not too intrusive - either background jazz, swing - or more modern ballads sung to professional backing tracks.
“...We absolutely loved the ceremony music...it was very special..” "Dear Anna, Thank you for singing for us yesterday. It was a lovely afternoon and with a mixed crowd your choice of songs was absolutely brilliant. I am sure you will receive bookings from our friends - everyone was really impressed."
Bridal Procession
This will obviously be in the same location. You need to consider the entrance. In a traditional church setting, it can take a minute or two to get to the altar - so there's more chance of having a substantial piece of music. In a room in a hotel the procession can be over much sooner! But in either case you will need a piece of music that will catch the attention of the guests and which will clearly stand out from the background music which has been playing up to that point. You don't have to have the music that every one else has! There is absolutely nothing to stop you from having any piece you like at this point. We can advise you carefully on this. - Some suggestions for songs are:- 1000 years - Christina Perry, From this moment - Shania Twain, Perfect - Ed Sheeran, I'm Amazed by you - Lonestar, but ultimately its your choice, and Anna can sing what ever you choose... or play the Bridal March from Wagner or Mendelsson if that's what you would like.
The Signing of the Register
This part of the ceremony often lasts longer than most people realise - photos are often taken at this stage, too - so if there is any music that is of especial significance to you and which you want your guests to hear, then this is where it should be played. Some suggestions are:- Signed, Sealed, Delivered - Stevie Wonder, At Last - Etta James, My Girl - Temptations, When you say nothing at all - Ronan Keating - Thinking out Loud - Ed Sheeran.
The Exit of The Couple
This is where the triumphant cheerful music needs to be played, it really can be anything you want! Some Suggestions are:- Mendelssons Bridal March - very traditional! We Are Family - Sister Sledge, Wonderful World - Sam Cooke, Just the Way you are - Billy Joel, Just the way you are - Bruno Mars, My first, my Last - my everything - Barry White..
Drinks Reception
This is when the bride and groom can take a breath and relax - it's time to meet and greet your guests! Here you need something that is not too intrusive but lively, and will create a warm and friendly ambience.
Remember that you are probably spending some of this time having your photographs taken, so you won't hear all the music at this point, but it's important to think of what you'd like your guests to hear. Something that people can sing along to, or tap their toes to - golden oldies always go down well at this point.
Wedding Breakfast
Once again it's important to get the mood right here. Conversation is usually quiet while the guests await the entrance of the bride and groom to the dining area. Then the couple enter, sometimes to a fanfare, and as the guests start to eat and drink the conversation sound level rises, and it's important to make sure that the background music is just that - neither too quiet nor too loud! Some Swing, jazz or soft bluesy music is always good here....
Speeches usually come at the end of the Wedding Breakfast. You definitely won't want any music here!
The First Dance
Sometimes the First Dance occurs at the end of the Wedding Breakfast, sometimes later in the evening during the general dancing - but it's always a good idea to choose a piece you feel comfortable with. You maybe already have a special song in mind, one that you danced to when you first met, from your favourite movie - or was playing on the radio when he proposed?? If not, and you're open to suggestions - "I've had the time of my life -Dirty Dancing" or, "Nothing else matter - Metallica" or "Have I told you lately that I love you - Van Morrison/Michael Buble" or "Shut up and Dance with me - Shoot the Moon" There are no rules...
General Dancing
Everyone has their own idea of the style of dancing they want to end the day, so it's important to consider this carefully, so many people tell me that a disco was too loud, didn't play the right music, or spoiled the atmosphere at another wedding they went to - which is a dreadful shame...
We can offer 2 styles and set ups of live music which are suitable for this part of the day
Solo Anna Nightingale... with professional backing tracks. Music from all eras, depending on your preference, and a DJ service in-between sets and for the final part of the evening, the exit of Bride & Groom.
